Volunteers sought in Calne to help with Poppy Appeal collection
The Calne branch of the Royal British Legion needs more people to help with its annual Poppy Appeal collection in October.
The appeal runs for the last two weeks of October up to Remembrance Sunday in November and is a major fundraising event for the branch.
Calne Town Councillor Tom Rounds, who is a member of the legion, said: “The success of the Appeal at local level is driven by volunteers who provide their time to man static collection points around Calne.
“If you think you might be able to spend a few hours in the morning or an afternoon helping us with the collection in Calne this Autumn, then we would love to hear from you.”
The Royal British Legion provides practical care, advice and welfare support to serving members of the armed forces and their families, and spends £200,000 a day helping those in need.
