THE champagne will be flowing tomorrow when Swindon’s most popular couples finally find out who has won this year’s £10,000 Win Your Wedding Competition.

The lucky winners of this year’s competition in the Adver will be announced during the Adver’s wedding fair at the Marriott Hotel in Pipers Way.

Last year’s winners, Clare (nee Hollocks) and Lee McGlone tied the knot on Monday after winning the star-studded package through the Mariott Hotel.

Between 11am and 3pm the fair, which has been organised by wedding specialists Love To Plan, will feature more than 30 suppliers showcasing florists, groom outfitters, photographers, jewellers, car hire companies wedding cakes and more.

There will even be a catwalk where models will showcase some of the best bridal gown designs around in a fashion show at 2pm.

The 10 finalists for this year’s Win Your Wedding Competition will then gather at the hotel for 2.30pm when the lucky winners will be announced.

Up for grabs are all the features of the Mariott Hotels’ Platinum wedding package and more, including an exclusive wedding dress worth £1,000 from Hazlewood Bridal Boutique and 10 standard bed and breakfast stays for their friends.

Adam Flint, general manager at the Marriott on Pipers Way, said: “The package is a great prize for the winner.

“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate your wedding in style and the couple will be able to save the money they would have spent on the honeymoon or on their house.

“A lot of people put off their wedding to save money for the day, and entering the competition could really speed up the process.

“And as a Marriott brand it’s fantastic, and our wedding packages are among the best on the market.”

The Marriott, which has more than 150 guest rooms, has just completed a £1.1m refurbishment of all the bedrooms which was finished at the end of August making it the most modern hotel on the market.

again we see the winner is the couple who have invested £4000 in advers, surely this goes against gaming competitions rules , where if a purchase is necessary to win there are strict rules.

Plainly it isn't a competition then. Sorry, but if you have £3500 to throw away then you can obviously afford to get married. How can the Adver let them keep the prize after admitting to vote-rigging? Still, it bumps up the Adver's profits, plus the Marriott can turn the screws on the couple to get as many guests to stay at their hotel (at a charge of course, seeing as you are getting a free wedding eh)...

Let's hope the other couples can save up and have their own better weddings.

I am not surprised that the article regarding the "winners" doesn't have a "have your say" option ! I certainly have something to say ! Not to the couple but to the farcical people who decided this is a competition ! It clearly isn't.
