Longbridge Deverill pub The George Inn will be undergoing a ten-week major refurbishment project over the coming weeks, but it will continue to welcome customers as normal throughout.
The phased work will mean minimal disruption, allowing drinkers, diners and hotel guests to carry on as usual, with the high-quality upgrade expected to be finished at the end of November.
Refurbishment plans include an Orangery on the existing terrace, a full refurbishment of all public areas and the renovation of the exterior.
The George Inn was recently purchased by the Upham Pub Company, which already has a history of bringing old pubs back to life and owns Upham Brewery in Hampshire, where it brew its own real ales.
Upham Pub Company Director David Butcher said: “We are delighted to be investing in this community pub project, adding to this lovely village and continuing to make the George a place we are all really proud to be part of, while still maintain the same friendly service and still offering high quality home cooked food.
“We’re sure locals and visitors alike will be delighted with the results of the significant investment we’re putting into this fine old building, whose charm and character we’ll respect and enhance.”
