WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: Pewsey pummelling leaves Bees’ boss Alford simply buzzing

TROWBRIDGE Town manager Mike Alford thinks his side produced their finest display of the season so far last weekend as they got back to winning ways at Vale of Pewsey.
Trowbridge, who lost 2-1 to Supermarine Sports Club last week, won 4-0 at Pewsey, with Tarick Yachou putting the visitors ahead in the first period.
Otis Young netted a brace in the second period and when Dan Barnett was felled in the area, Ian Groves stepped up to slot home Trowbridge’s fourth of the afternoon.
“The new guys that we’ve brought in are starting to settle properly and that was the best we’ve played so far this season,” said Alford.
“Rather than going out there and waiting for things to happen, we were controlling the game, which is good to see. Things have been going very well and Otis has ten goals already.
“We were really disappointed to lose last week because it was a one-sided game that we didn’t deserve to lose but we bounced back nicely against Pewsey and hopefully we can get another good win when we play Blyskawica at Woodmarsh (tomorrow).”
In Division One, early pace-setters Melksham Town Reserves suffered a setback as they were beaten 6-3 by Wootton Bassett Town Dev.
Melksham travel to Wroug-hton Reserves tomorrow.
