Tickets for Calne Arts and Music Festival go on sale

Tickets for Calne’s 39th Arts and Music Festival are now available from the town’s information centre.
The festival runs from October 5-13 and a festival box office will be open at the information centre until October 11.
The festival begins with an evening of entertainment from Swindon’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society, who will present satirical, comic and romantic sketches from their shows on October 5.
Pupils from John Bentley School have organised a programme featuring music from the last 300 years on October 8 at 7.30pm. On the same day at 9.30pm, pupils from St Mary’s will perform songs from the world of film and theatre.
Students in Marlborough College’s jazz band will play on October 9 at 12.15pm.
The festival programme should appeal to anyone who has an interest in music, art or writing, and on Saturday, October 12, organisers have dedicated a day to dancing.
Art exhibitions displaying the work of the Calne Woodlands Camera Club, as well as members of the Calne Baptist Church with the Calne Artists group, have been arranged.
There will be a children’s art exhibition in Calne library and a digital image competition, for which the closing date is October 7.
