Limited cover in Swindon during fire strike

Wiltshire Fire and Rescue say they have adequate cover for this afternoon’s strike but it may take longer to arrive at a call.
Swindon, Stratton and Westlea fire stations will be striking from noon until 4pm.
There will also be a pump operating from the centre of Swindon manned by non-striking fire-fighters.
Crews will therefore have to travel from a different location than they normally would but the fire service will be responding to 999 calls.
The Fire Brigades Union called the strike after government announced proposals to increase the age of retirement in fire service until 60.
