JUNIOR footballers at an award-winning club in Highworth are ready to mount a promotion push thanks to a stylish new kit donated by leading house builder Taylor Wimpey.
Youngsters in the Highworth Town Junior U11 ‘J’ side will be wearing the smart new shirts this season thanks to a £500 sponsorship deal with the team behind the sought-after Heyworth Heights development in the town.
Highworth Town’s juniors’ successful youth system now boasts a total of 29 junior teams from U7s to U17s and has seen them win a top regional award for community involvement from the FA.
Commercial manager David Gunn said: “As a club we have grown very quickly and it’s great to have the support of local companies to help us continue our development and provide a good standard of football for hundreds of local youngsters.
“When Taylor Wimpey started developing Heyworth Heights we were keen to build a relationship with them, and their support is very much appreciated. It has allowed us to buy a new kit for one of our U11 sides and the boys will be looking good when they take to the pitch this season.”
As well as the new kit, the company also donated a number of barriers used at the club’s community day on September 7, which saw hundreds of people enjoy live music and a big FA Vase fixture with Camberley Town.
Darren McCormack, regional sales and marketing director for the builder, said: “We are delighted to be able to help support the community and footballing success story that is Highworth Town. They provide a wonderful service for families in the area and we wish them well for the season ahead.
