Chippenham Park Bowls Club has raised £800 for its captain’s charity of the year, Parkinson’s UK.
The club, which has been at John Coles Park since 1923, has raised money through raffles, donations, and even fining bowlers who have erred during a game.
Vice captain Keith Hutchins played a major part in the fundraising. His father, Bill, was a Parkinson’s sufferer who was well-known on the bowls circuit. The cheque was presented to Sylvia Morgan, who chairs Malmesbury and District Parkinson’s UK, at a game on its president’s day.
