The Corsham School has been awarded an International School Award from the British Council, in recognition of its work exploring other languages and cultures.
International Schools coordinator Miriam Wharf said: “We got the intermediate award, which recognises that across the school there are chances for students to learn about the world, from across the curriculum. In music lessons they cover things from reggae from the Caribbean, to music from South America and China.
“They also learnt British sign language, and Polish numbers in maths lessons, and afterwards all the kids were approaching this one Polish girl at lunch and asking her to speak Polish.
“It’s a great accolade for the school.”
