MP Claire Perry has welcomed the news that First Great Western has been awarded an extension to operate services between London Paddington and the south west until September 2015.
A commitment has been given as part of this extension that through train services at Bedwyn and Pewsey will be retained.
In addition, longer distance trains will also be fitted with free Wi-Fi for passengers.
Mrs Perry said: "I am pleased that following the uncertainty over the terminated franchise competition in 2012 a contract extension has now been awarded and that First Great Western can continue to focus on performance and customer satisfaction improvements.
"I will continue to work as hard as I can to ensure that future train services at Bedwyn and Pewsey are at least as good as they are now and so that our vital transport links are protected and therefore the local economy and house prices are enhanced."
