Devizes MP promoted to the whips office

Rising Conservative star Claire Perry has been promoted by Prime Minister David Cameron in today’s cabinet reshuffle.
The MP for the Devizes constituency has been appointed to the whips office.
In a tweet issued at 4.09pm she said: “Delighted to be joining the Whips office, ably led by my neighbouring MP Sir George Young”. Sir George is MP for North West Hampshire.
Mrs Perry was first elected to Parliament for the Devizes constituency three years ago and has been tipped for the top by politics watchers.
Earlier this year Mrs Perry, who has long campaigned for more stringent controls on the internet to prevent children getting access to online pornography, was made the PM’s special adviser on kerbing commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood.
The 49-year-old mother-of-three is a graduate of Brasenose College, Oxford and went on to get a MBA at Harvard University.
On Saturday she attended the opening of the Mop Fair in Marlborough, taking a spin on one of the rides with her son Hector.
