The Beavers and Cubs of 6th Devizes Scout Group enjoyed visits to the town hall.
Carole Berry, who showed them around, was very informative, kept the children’s interest and they were extremely well behaved. Among a good few stories and informative talks there was also the story of the hall’s haunted cellar.
Marcus Hopgood, Devizes town crier, was there to greet them and explain his role, as was mayor Peter Smith, both being dressed in their official clothes.
Michael Plant, the oldest Cub, worked hard over the summer for some of his badges, eventually producing enough work to cover 16 badges.
Michael proudly saluted as he was presented with them by Mr Smith.
