A day club in Devizes for people with dementia needs votes from the public to win cash from a community challenge fund.
The Sidmouth Club, in Sidmouth Street, run by Alzheimer’s Support, is in line for £3,000 from the Lloyds Community Fund if it can drum up enough votes online and from bank customers.
The cash would pay for transport to and from the club, which provides a supportive meeting place for people in the early to mid-stages of dementia.
To vote for the club, visit www.communityfund.lloydsback.
com and type “Alzheimers Support” in the search box, then follow the instructions on screen.
Alternatively, you can vote from a mobile phone by texting VOTE VMQB to the number 61119.
You can also vote in person at Lloyds Bank in Devizes, Calne or Melksham.
Club manager Grant Newton said: “We would urge everyone to vote for us in whichever way they can.
“The money will help us to ensure the Sidmouth Club experience is accessible to people throughout the area, especially to those who live alone.”
Last month the club won the Dignity in Care and Winner of Winners awards at Wiltshire’s Adult Social Care Awards.
