The blisters were worth it as North Wilts Golf Club captain Steve Iles presented the cash he raised in a non-stop 87-mile walk.
Mr Iles, 65, of Oxford Road, Calne, suffered severe blisters in the charity endeavour.
He walked on The Ridgeway national trail from Ivinghoe Beacon to Wiltshire in June, which took him 36 hours and 57 minutes.
He raised £2,000 in sponsorship but the amount was boosted further by a charity day he hosted at the golf club and sponsorship forms in the club’s bar.
He presented a cheque for £4,320 to The Brain Tumour Charity, in memory of Betty McCarthy, a member of the golf club who had a brain tumour, and other people he knows affected by the disease.
Mr Iles, a builder, said: “It’s a fantastic amount and thank you to everyone who donated.”
