EQUESTRIAN: Collett and King in GB team

TWO local riders have been selected to represent Great Britain at the final leg of the 2013 FEI Nations Cup series in the Netherlands this weekend.
Membury-based Laura Collett and Stanton St Quinton eventer Kitty King are both included in the British squad, who currently lie a single point ahead of Germany following events at Houghton Hall in Norfolk, Waregem in Belgium and Montelibretti in Italy.
Collett will ride the Philip Walker-owned Allora 3 while King will take part on board Jane Murfett and Frank Inns’ Persimmon.
The team is completed by the presence of Oxfordshire rider Izzy King and KBIS Starlet and West Sussex’s Gemma Tattersall on board Chico Bella P.
Team GB’s World Class Development Programme eventing performance manager Yogi Breisner said of the selection: “We have six of our CICO team riders out here and it wasn’t at all easy to select four of them since they are all on equally good form.
“It is a really exciting team and it is great to have a team of such talented horses and riders.”
