Bring your memories of World War to Marlborough
1:00pm Saturday 2nd November 2013 in Latest News
RESIDENTS are encouraged to bring memorabilia to mark the beginning of Marlborough’s preparations for the centenary of the First World War.
Items will be collected at the Town Hall on November 9 and 10 between 10am-4pm and any photographs, objects, letters, diaries or mementos brought along will be digitally recorded and photographed. People’s memories will be recorded to create a digital archive.
The memorabilia will form the basis of exhibitions in the town during the four years of the centenary.
The event will coincide with the Remembrance weekend and will showcase some of the events organised for next year, providing a chance for people to get involved.
