Purton woman, 91, killed in A417 car crash named locally

A 91-YEAR-OLD Purton woman who died in a major collision on the A417 yesterday morning has been named locally as Frances Verity, of Glevum Close.
Gloucestershire Police responded to the crash on the A417 between the Air Balloon roundabout and Nettleton Bottom at around 11.35am on Monday and involved a car and a heavy goods vehicle.
South West Ambulance Service attended the scene, an initially two people from the car were said to have been injured.
This morning a spokesman for the Gloucestershire force said: "We can confirm that the two women who died following a collision on the A417 yesterday morning were an 84-year-old woman from Great Bedwyn in Marlborough and a 91-year-old woman from Purton in Wiltshire.
"Formal identification has not yet taken place."
The lorry driver is not thought to have been injured in the collision.
