SWINDON Supermarine have made seven-day approaches for Chippenham’s James Guthrie and Wootton Bassett’s Alex Rigley.
Left-winger Guthrie played under Marine boss Dave Webb for Highworth and has impressed since arriving at Hardenhuish Park in January 2011.
Rigley, another left-sided player, featured in 12 games for Marine in the 2007/08 season following his release by Swindon Town, and is now playing Hellenic League Premier Division football with Bassett.
The approaches for Guthrie and Rigley are part of a three-pronged transfer foray by Marine boss Dave Webb, who is also close to clinching a deal to bring Hungerford striker Josh Parsons back to the Webb’s Wood Stadium.
Chippenham, who appointed Mark Collier as their new boss on Wednesday, have made a seven-day approach for Marine midfielder Rob Dean, who former Bluebirds boss Nathan Rudge tried to sign last summer.
Marine were without a fixture in Division One South & West at the weekend.
