British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after two bikes were stolen at Trowbridge railway station.

A white Kona mountain bike worth £400 was stolen after the owner left it at the station at about 6.30am on Tuesday, October 15.

When he returned later the same day, he discovered his bike was missing.

Another bike was stolen from a train on November 11 after the owner, travelling on a Salisbury to Cardiff Central service at around 7pm, placed it in the vestibule area of the train carriage.

It was stolen by a man who is thought to have got off the train at Trowbridge station.

PC Kelly Millar, one of the investigating officers, said: “We are working closely with cycle and second-hand shops in the area and are monitoring online auction and advertising sites to make it more difficult for thieves to sell on stolen property.”
