Staff at a Devizes dental practice easily surpassed their fundraising target for Movember.

Five members of staff – dentists Nick Flindall, Paul Hughes and Paul Silvester, technician Jamie Gillett and hygienist Phil Wood – grew moustaches in November to raise money for male cancers.

It was the first time they had taken part in Movember and only Mr Hughes had previously grown a beard.

However, they all vowed they would not be keeping their moustaches.

Mr Flindall said: “The moustaches have been itchy and there’s been lots of moaning by us. The girls (dental staff) put on stick-on moustaches to show support for us.”

The effort was the idea of Mr Silvester, who recently joined the dental practice.

They aimed to raise £100 but ended up collecting more than £600.
