LUCKY nine-year-old Junior Gunner Freddie Richens, from Faringdon, was chosen at random from over 30,000 young Arsenal fans to be the Gunners’ mascot for their Premier League match against Everton on Sunday.

Being a member of Arsenal’s junior supporter’s club, the 'Junior Gunners', gave Freddie the once in a lifetime chance of walking the team out onto the pitch for kick-off at the Emirates Stadium and meeting his heroes ahead of the game, including Arsenal’s record signing, Mesut Ozil.

Freddie said: “It was brilliant to have been chosen to be the mascot and to walk the team out onto the pitch. I got to meet loads of players, it was really exciting.”

German star Ozilreturned the compliment, adding: “It was great to meet Freddie ahead of our game with Everton. He was really excited and such a passionate young supporter, it was good to see.”
