CHRISTMASFEST is returning to Marlborough at 7.30pm on December 21.
The second annual event will feature music from various performers including Marlborough Community Choir, Mother’s Jam, Skedaddle and NewQuay Times, who are playing for free.
Christmasfest will be fundraising in aid of The Jubilee Centre, for the elderly in Marlborough, and the Starlight Foundation, a hospice for terminally children.
Co-organiser Roger Grant, who runs Mantonfest, said: “What we have done is take all the best local groups and ask if they are available to play for free.
“They are performing a good mix of Christmas music and all the standards.
“Christmasfest will be a friendly atmosphere where everybody can get together and enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas concert.
“Although last year was free, this year it was felt that there was a need to charge a nominal amount of £5 a head to make it worthwhile for the two charities.”
Entry for children under 12 costs £3. The event has moved to St Mary’s Church this year after it sold out in the town hall in 2012.
The Marlborough Commu-nity Choir, conducted by Vanessa Lafaye, will be performing festive music with carols and songs. Mulled wine, wine, mince pies and soft drinks will be on sale.
