DAUNTSEY’S Academy Primary School (DAPS) in West Lavington has received £250 to spend on books after one of its year six pupils won a writing contest.
The Lexicon Creative Writing Competition is run by the English department at Dauntsey’s School, West Lavington, in association with Bath Children’s Literature Festival and is open to primary school pupils in Year Six.
DAPS pupil Daniel Hunt won and received a £50 book token while highly commended DAPS pupil Lotte Mann received a £20 token.
Robert Lakin, headteacher at DAPS, said: “We are exceptionally proud of our pupils for their outstanding contribution to the competition."
Second place was awarded to a pupil from Wansdyke Primary, while pupils from Seend and Avondale were highly commended.
