Primary school children went to Trowbridge’s John of Gaunt School to learn about of the joy of books during their Read Right Night last Tuesday.
During the event there was a range of workshops running, with some visitors coming dressed as their favourite literary characters.
Children from all of Trowbridge’s primary schools were invited to Read Right Night.
Andy Packer, John of Gaunt headteacher, said: “In today’s highly technical world, reading still remains an important core skill and we are keen to develop a passion for it in Trowbridge.
“Everybody had an enjoyable evening. Children are living in a new golden age of literature and there is a lot out there for them to discover.”
John of Gaunt is hoping to repeat the Read Right Night next summer.
