Staff from Waitrose in Warminster presented £750 to Abbeyfield House in Westbury, before doing some volunteer work at the sheltered home.
The money was part of the supermarket’s 2013 Isolation Campaign, which is supporting the elderly, homeless and vulnerable.
Waitrose is backing local groups throwing Christmas dinner celebrations for people who would otherwise be on their own.
Abbeyfield House, in Bratton Road, offers supported living for retired people who want to remain independent.
Waitrose Warminster personnel manager Pam Parsons said: “Our Community Matters Scheme enabled me, Kath Ashman and Sandra Caimes to give our free time to help. We had an enjoyable afternoon.”
