Motorists driving in Oxford Road in Calne were stopped by police on December 10 as part of a crackdown on speeding.
During the operation, which lasted for around an hour, police issued five verbal warnings to drivers who were travelling over the speed limit, but were below the level for prosecution.
A fixed penalty ticket was issued to a local man in his fifties who was driving a Toyota Celica at a speed of 42mph in a 30mph zone, and two drivers were warned about lighting defects on their cars.
Calne PCSO Mark Cook said: “These operations are being conducted as the Calne neighbourhood police team has adopted this issue as a local policing priority. This is due to residents expressing their concerns.”
