Chippenham town councillors voted this week to switch electricity supplier and sign up with local award-winning company Good Energy.
“Chippenham Town Council is committed to using renewable energy resources, getting best value for every penny of the public money it uses and supporting where possible local businesses,” said council leader David Powell.
“Good Energy has enabled us to achieve all of those aspirations.”
Good Energy chief executive and founder Juliet Davenport OBE said: “As a local company it’s great to welcome Chippenham Town Council as one of our newest customers.”
Good Energy has had its headquarters in Chippenham since 1999. The company recently announced that it is freezing its domestic prices over the winter, a move which has been warmly welcomed by its customers.
Good Energy has more than 35,000 electricity and 12,000 gas customers. It is also one of the largest Feed in Tariff (FIT) administrators in the country, managing the payments that are made to 55,000-plus customers who generate their own electricity.
