Fraudsters took more than £6,000 from a 73-year-old Chippenham woman in a phone scam.
The crooks posed as the woman’s network provider and called to say there was a fault with her computer before taking her bank card details, last Tuesday at 4.30pm.
The bank has since returned the £6,116 taken from her account.
She was hounded by seven more bogus calls the following day, until a Wiltshire Police officer answered the call.
Police are advising people to set up a password with their network provider so they know when a call is genuine.
