GRAN Joanna Purchas shared her prizes among the family after winning the Wiltshire Times Christmas Stocking Competition.

Mrs Purchas, 63, of Grasmere, Trowbridge, regularly reads the Wiltshire Times and was drawn in by the competition because of one of the prizes – a DAB radio.

She said: “I fancied that so I thought why not? My radio always goes offline or gets interference.”

Readers were invited to collect three of four tokens published in the Wiltshire Times over four weeks to be in with a chance of winning an array of prizes in time for Christmas.

The list of prizes included a Bush Wooden DAB radio, Cookworks chocolate fountain, Xmini portable speaker, Nicky Clarke Styling Trio, Bop It! game, Xbox 360, Fifa 14 game, Acer Tablet, Vivitar camera, Monopoly, Twister, Tassimo by Bosch hot drinks maker, Babyliss Men’s Essential grooming kit, Kobo E-reader and an Ipod Shuffle.

Retired Mrs Purchas said: “I didn’t realise one person gets all the prizes. I was really delighted when I heard I had won and it was a lovely surprise. “

The thought of having a tablet and a camera is really nice. My husband Mike has his own camera and I take photos on my phone, so it will be nice to have my own camera.

“It is a surprise we will all get something out of. I think we will use all the presents within the family. I am looking forward to playing the games over the Christmas holiday. I haven’t played Monopoly for a long time.”
