Police are appealing for information after a serious collision resulted in a section of the A36 near Codford being closed for three hours on Christmas Eve.

At around 6pm last Tuesday, a red Honda Deauville motorcycle being ridden towards Warminster from the Salisbury direction collided with a green Citroen Xsara being driven the opposite way on the A36 close to Codford.

The motorcycle rider, a man in his 50’s from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with serious leg injuries. The driver of the Citroen, a 26 year old man from the Street area was unhurt.

The road was closed for three hours to allow officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) to complete an examination of the scene.
