Chippenham town councillor Mary Fallon hopes to address the council’s planning committee tomorrow night with a list of problem pavements in the town.

Following injuries to fallen pedestrians, a call for a review of pavements in the Gazette in November prompted residents to report problem areas to Coun Fallon, and she is urging people to continue to do so.

She said she had received a good response and had put together a list of loose pavings and dropped kerbs, as well as utility company repairs considered to be poor.

She said: “I have compiled the list from many who have suffered injury or have found the condition of our streets very poor.

“I’m told it is a regular occurence throughout the week for people to report falls at the town hall, so people are delighted something is being done. I’ve had many parents with pushchairs approach me about it as well.

“The intention is to present to Wiltshire Council at an area board meeting a list that justifies a long needed review of Chippenham's pedestrian walkways.”

The area board next meets on March 3.

The main areas listed are: Monkton Hill, Ivy Lane, Park Lane, Greenway Lane, St Paul’s Street, High Street, Market Place, Lowden Hill, London Road near the Three Crowns, The Butts and Bath Road near Avonbridge House.
