A 17-year-old Corsham art student has made his mark on the town, after his work has been displayed for the whole town to see.

Corsham School student Zach Rush was nominated by his teacher Kerry Everson to design a mural for the hoardings at housing association GreenSquare’s Spring Tinings development in Beechfield Road.

GreenSquare co-ordinator Matthew Atkins said: “The hoardings at the site are simply wooden panels and they aren’t a particularly attractive sight. However, we thought they would provide a fantastic blank canvas for a budding local artist to showcase their work.

“We approached the local school and they recommended Zach for the job, and we’re really pleased with what he’s done for us.”

Zach said: “I have designed a mural that positively represents both the local and global community and I am really pleased to have this opportunity to show my work in the public domain.

“This project will also be able to form part of my media studies coursework, which is on how street art can be used as a medium for social and political values and ideologies.”
