ZAC Stewart-Skinner scored four goals to help his Swindon Rangers side progress to the quarter-finals of the Under 12 League Cup with a 9-1 win over Stratton Juniors Pumas.

Rangers were three up by the break in what turned out to be a comfortable victory, with six goals coming in the second period as Gregor Thompson grabbed a hat-trick and Jack Paines netted twice.

In the under 13 competition, Swindon Rangers Allstars goalkeeper Harvey George took the plaudits with a penalty save and an all-round high quality performance as his side beat Wootton Bassett Blue 3-0. With Rangers 1-0 up, George dived to his right to push away a penalty which helped his side progress to the semi-finals, with Rangers’ three goals coming courtesy of a Dan Skinner brace and a superb finish from Harry Skippen.

In the Wiltshire County Cup, Highworth Town Juniors T progressed to the last eight of the under 15s competition with a 2-1 victory over FC Calne at the Rec. Highworth Town Juniors T advanced into the last eight of the Wilts County Cup with a 2-1 victory against FC Calne at the Rec.

Aaron Aryee opened the scoring after 10 minutes with Jamie Paterson slotting home a penalty to make it 2-0 at half-time after Will Lewis was fouled in the area. Calne got a goal back half-way through the second period but Highworth ran out winners.

In league action, Liden made it two wins in a row in Under 10 Division 2 with a 2-1 home success over Highworth Town T. An impressive first-half performance saw Liden’s Hasan Yousaf produce a spectacular first goal while impressive defending restricted Highworth to just a handful of chances.

After the break the Worthians came back into the contest and levelled matters with a well-taken goal from inside the box, but Liden found a winner as Harrison Racey reacted quickest to a Luke Robins free kick to smash home the winner.

Highworth Town Under 11s started 2014 in fine form with a convincing 4-1 home win against Shrivenham & Watchfield in Under 11 Division 2.

Highworth led 2-0 at the break through goals from Owen Pennock and Josh Uzzell and completed the win with another goal from Pennock and the fourth from Jake Sollis late on.Well taken goals from Aiden Bennett, Francis Bertoszewski and Ryan Meader-Harris, alongside an influential performance from Matthew Kendal, ensured Liden recorded a 3-1 win against Sevenfields Utd in an entertaining Under 15 Division 3 contest. Tom Prinzi scored the Sevenfields goal.
