Katherine Jenkins announces summer concert at Westonbirt

Superstar diva Katherine Jenkins OBE has announced a special concert at Westonbirt Arboretum this summer as part of the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live concert calendar.
Jenkins, the world’s most prolific classical crossover artist, will appear with the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis, at Westonbirt, near Tetbury, on Sunday, July 20.
She is the second big act to be announced at Westonbirt, with Boyzone booked to play on Friday, July 18.
And the concert will be her second appearance at the arboretum, having played to a capacity crowd in 2008. She said: “I am really looking forward to returning to Westonbirt Arboretum this summer to perform again in such a beautiful location.”
In 2003 Jenkins signed the biggest-ever recording contract for a classical artist and has since become the premiere ambassador of bringing classical music to a mainstream audience.
To date, she has released nine studio albums, all of which have sold in excess of seven million copies and gone platinum around the world.
She has received numerous awards for her recordings, including two Classical BRITS for the coveted Album of the Year Award. and her most recent accolade was receiving an OBE in the 2014 New Year Honours List for services to music and charity, in particular, her work with the armed forces.
The concert will include a selection of Katherine’s favourite works as well as classic proms repertoire.
