A BREAST cancer charity has relaunched under a brand new moniker to reach out to donors and volunteers across Swindon.
The Wiltshire branch of Breakthrough Breast Cancer announced at its annual dinner dance at the Marriott Hotel this month that it would now be known as the Swindon and North Wiltshire Group.
The group was formed in 1995 by Shirley and Ralph Garman.
Committee chairman Paul Parfrey said there was a need to acknowledge Swindon, a great area of support, in its name.
“As with all charitable organisations, fundraising is getting tougher and the group really needs to engage with companies of all size in and around Swindon,” he said.
“This has always been challenging as the group hasn’t necessarily been recognised as a Swindon based organisation – even though all the volunteers and group members live in the Swindon area.”
