DIY store Screwfix is the latest company to move into Marlborough Business Park, which means the area is now almost at full capacity.

All of the industrial and office space at the park has now been sold or let with just two trade counter units left.

Last year Screwfix, which employs more than 80,000 people worldwide, opened on average more than one store a week and it is aiming to do the same again this year, including the store based in Marlborough.

A spokesman for Screwfix said: “We can confirm that Screwfix will be opening a new store at Marlborough Business Park.

“We anticipate the store will be open for business in early February and will create 13 jobs in the area.”

Work on the business park, located less than a mile from the town centre on land east of Salisbury Road, started in 2005 after demands in the town for an industrial estate or business park for 40 years.

It combines national and international companies including Brewin Dolphin, and JP Kummer and local businesses like Savernake Auto Services and Sue Brady Catering.

Alex Minoudis, chairman of Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, said: “Marlborough Chamber of Commerce welcomes Screwfix to the business community.

“It is great to see another well-known national brand adding to the vitality of Marlborough Business Park.

“We’re sure the outlet will enjoy tremendous success.”
