TOM Rowe headed an equaliser to cancel out Joe Dixon’s early strike to secure a point for Ardington & Lockinge against their closest rivals Dorchester at the top of North Berks League Division One.

The result leaves Ardington out in front by a point and maintains their unbeaten record. The draw brings Kintbury Rangers back into the title race.

Saxton Rovers returned to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over bottom of the table Crowmarsh Gifford. James Lee and Howard Hawkings netted for the lowly visitors, but goals from Rob Andrews, Gary Belcher and Jeff Harriott won the match for Saxton.

Ashley Searle found the back of the net four times as Wallingford Town ran out 5-1 winners at home to Berinsfield. Connor Mattimore scored their fifth whilst Dan Osbourne registered the consolation for the visitors.

In the only match played in Division Two Marcham ran riot.Playing basement side Sutton Courtenay they ran out 8-0 winners at home.

Shane Northcott and Jonny Eldridge bagged a brace apiece alongside further goals from Wes Coster, Stuart Armstrong, Lewis Hill and Jamie Saulter in the rout.

In Division Three, Clanfield 85 Reserves won 5-3 at Hungerford Town Swifts with both Liam Quinn and Roger James scoring twice. Robert James grabbed their fifth goal whilst Lloyd Ponsford, Damian Lybech-Harris and Aidan Maycock all scored in vain for Hungerford.

Benson AFC won their hastily arranged home game over Ardington & Lockinge Reserves 4-2 to move them within one point of Division Four leaders Turnpike Sports. Craig Passey with two, Chris Roberts and Camden Laver scored their goals whilst Luke Williams bagged a brace for Ardington.

The bottom two sides met in Division Five with Hagbourne United Reserves running out 6-0 winners at home to Appleton Stars who remain rooted to the foot of the table yet to register a point. Ben Jeffreys and Stuart Goodenough both grabbed two goals alongside Steve Hedges and Dean McGirr efforts.
