SCRAPPERS Boxing Gym & Community Fitness Centre was relaunched on Friday with extended opening times.

The gym relocated to larger premises in September 2013 to accommodate more people who want to work out and get fit at low cost.

The gym is a project set up and managed by local registered charity Swindon Children’s Scrapstore. It first opened its doors to the local community in November 2011. Following a successful re-launch of the gym in September 2013 and a recruitment drive for new volunteers to help out, it has been able to extend the gym opening times which will enable them to work with more young people and provide increased access to the gym.

Project manager Olivia McCann said: “Our volunteers generously dedicate their time to work with people in the community to help them improve their health and fitness.

“Volunteers are a crucial part of the Scrappers Boxing Gym and we are always looking for new volunteers to get involved with Scrappers Gym. If you have experience in boxing, kick boxing, mixed martial arts or fitness and you would like to help please contact the Scrappers Gym Team.”

The gym is now open weekday evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm, Mondays 9.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm and Sunday 12pm to 2om.
