SWINDON Town pitch invader Andrew Bowles was banned from football for three years and ordered to work 150 hours unpaid at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning.

Bowles, 26, of Newbury, stood before magistrates after invading the County Ground pitch on November 23 last year, and aiming three punches at Leyton Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones.

The thug must fulfil his unpaid work requirement within 12 months, pay £100 in compensation for common assault, a £60 victim surcharge and £85 in Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) costs.

Bowles entered the pitch from the Town End and assaulted the goalkeeper before being tackled by stewards.

The club released an official statement in connection with the incident at the time and announced the perpetrator would be banned from the County Ground for life.
