A Warminster man attacked a front door with a car jack because he believed the house occupant had burned down his shed.
Lawrence James Pemberton, 48, of The Dene, was given a 12-month supervision order and a £145 fine by magistrates in Chippenham last Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to the door.
The court heard how Pemberton, a former carpenter who had suffered severe head injuries during a moto-cross accident in 2009, went to the property in neighbouring St George’s Close, Warminster, on December 29.
He had heard a rumour that the house occupant had set fire to his shed, destroying his tools and motorcycle collection.
The fire was reported in the Wiltshire Times.
