The 6th Devizes Scout group has thanked staff and governors at The Trinity Primary School at Quakers Walk for allowing them a home base in the school hall.

Scout leader Scott Coleman said of their first meeting: “We had our first night of the term together at our new home, The Trinity School. The headteacher, has very kindly agreed to let us use their hall for a very good rate, also allowing us to use some of their equipment.

“The evening was a group event with the Beavers, Cubs and newly-formed Scout troop all together.

“We were joined by Keith Bennett, our District Commissioner, Jane Palmer, our Assistant County Commissioner for Cubs, Sharon Cottrell and Brian Hoggett, who are both members of Scout Active Support and have been a fantastic support to the group.

“Several parents also stayed with us and very kindly gave their time to help get drinks ready and other useful background tasks.

“Other parents joined us halfway through the evening because it was going to hold a special memory for their children, as they got invested into a mix of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.”
