A seat is vacant on Corsham Town Council, following the resignation of a councillor.
June Yeatman, who was voted onto the council last May to represent the town’s Pickwick ward, resigned two weeks ago.
She said: “I have other responsibilities and have taken on a lot of extra work, and I found that I couldn’t perform my duties as a town councillor to the best of my abilities.
“I had to make a choice to give the time I wanted to the council, and there just aren’t enough hours in the day.
“I have enjoyed it while I was on, but I thought I should step aside for somebody younger.”
Notice of the vacancy has formally been given, and an election will take place if ten electors from the ward write to Wiltshire Council’s returning officer by February 14.
If no voters come forward the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
