The traditional Cinderella fairy tale was given a modern twist when it was performed by children at a Calne school last Thursday and Friday evening.

Cinderella & Rockerfella included ten rousing songs and a number of dance routines performed by pupils aged from seven to nine in Years 3 and 4 at St Margaret’s Preparatory School.

Producer Heather Richards said: “The children were exceptional and they were rewarded with a standing ovation. I think this is one of the best shows this age group has ever performed.

“Every child from the two year groups was involved and the audience seemed to really enjoy the catchy songs; the traditional Cinderella story was given a modern twist by making Prince Charming a rock star.”

A retiring collection raised in excess of £600 for the school’s chosen charity – Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
