WEST Wilts are still searching for their first win of 2014 after being held to an 8-8 draw by Newent in their Davis Wood League Conference North clash at Kingdown School on Saturday.
Player-coach Callum Wolff scored four times, Mark Brothers twice and Dan Sheppard and Ben Creedy the other goals as the Warminster side dropped points in the title race.
There was also a draw for the West Wilts Ladies first team as their lead at the top of West Clubs League East Division was cut to just one point after a goalless draw with Bournemouth 2.
West Wilts also bowed out of the Investec Trophy at the third round stage after a long trip to Guernsey on Sunday morning.
The home side got their opener before the break and wrapped it up in the second half, despite a player of the match performance from Wilts goalkeeper Juliette Turner.
The ladies’ second string were beaten 2-1 as Chippenham 2 claimed their first home win of the season in Wessex Division One.
The visitors opened the scoring when Lauren Trim’s well-timed pass across the top of the circle was swept home by Helen Culverhouse.
But Chippenham equalised before half-time and a second goal after the break secured the points.
