First UK plan to meet angry villagers to discuss the firm’s decision to stop running buses through North Bradley.

From Sunday, the 264 service, between Bath and Warminster, will no longer run at all while the 265 service, between Bath and Salisbury, will now go to the White Horse Business Park instead of picking up passengers in North Bradley.

A representative from First is expected to attend North Bradley Parish Council’s meeting, which is taking place at The Progressive Hall at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Parish councillor Horace Prickett, who also serves as a Wiltshire councillor, has launched a petition to keep the services as they are.

He said: “We want someone to come along and give us a rational explanation for changing the services.”

From Monday, depending where they live, North Bradley residents will have to walk between half-a-mile and a mile to get the 265 service from their nearest bus stop opposite the Spitfire Retail Park, in Bradley Road.
