WILTSHIRE Centre for Independent Living, a charity that is led by and works for disabled people in the whole of Wiltshire, is hosting a unique event, showcasing opportunities for sport and leisure that disabled people can have access to.

The event, which takes place in Marlborough Leisure Centre on March 8 from 10am to 3pm, has the support of paralympian Louise Hunt.

It aims to break down the barriers that restrict disabled and older people from participating in activities within their community and forge stronger community connections.

Wiltshire CIL are working closely with Wiltshire Council to organise the event and will have a range of exhibitors including sports teams and community groups. There will also be a chance to see activities such as wheelchair tennis in action and even have a go.

This will be the first time an event of this nature has taken place within Wiltshire and it is hoped it will be a catalyst for real change when it comes to disabled people using the facilities in their community in a positive way

Anyone interested in the event should email matt@wiltshirecil.org.uk or call 01380 725400.
