Children at Langley Fitzurse Primary School in Kington Langley cooked a special lunch to thank their volunteers and governors last week.

A winter warming lunch was made by seven to nine-year-olds on Tuesday in the school kitchen that was refurbished last summer.

They made three different soups and types of bread, all from scratch, under the guidance of parent governor Michala Ashley-Dando.

It was served up to about 20 guests to thank them for coming in to read with the children and supporting them on school trips and at after-school sports clubs.

Class teacher Suki Pascoe said: ‘It was great to be able to properly thank all our volunteers for their invaluable work around the school.

“The seasonal menu reflects the children’s learning about eating properly to keep warm when they are out and about, which is our current theme.”
