RESIDENTS in Royal Wootton Bassett who have made a significant difference to the community will be recognised in the civic awards ceremony on Monday, February 10.

Peter Sheppard, Christopher Howard and the RevCanon Thomas Woodhouse will each receive an award in recognition of their outstanding service to the community.

Peter will receive the award in recognition of his 50 years’ service as a teacher and Christopher will be acknowledged for his work as the voluntary chairman on the Community Magazine.

Thomas will receive the award to mark his work in the community as a leader and active member of a number of community groups.

Mayor Linda Frost, will make the presentations in a ceremony at St Bartholomews’ And All Saints’ Church.

Linda said: “They are presented to individuals who have brought about honour or prestige to the town, so enhancing its reputation either by some single outstanding act or by voluntary work sustained over a long period of time.”
