Hundreds follow Yellow Brick Road to see 'wizard' show at Devizes School
Hundreds of people followed the Yellow Brick Road to Devizes School, as pupils put on their own production of The Wizard of Oz.
Students from Years 7 to 13 entertained more than 640 audience members over four nights.
The show was the culmination of three months of hard work, including almost daily cast rehearsals.
The school’s main hall was transformed into a theatre, with raised seating, professional lighting and sound, extended stage and their own Yellow Brick Road.
The production was the school’s biggest, most ambitious and best attended so far, with people hurrying to get their tickets over the course of the week as the show’s good reputation spread.
Stuart MacFarlane, head of creative and performing arts at the school and the producer and director of the musical, said: “The students and staff never cease to amaze me with their talent and dedication.
“Everyone has stepped up to the mark this year and all around their full-time jobs, homework and exams.”
