Nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and people interested in administration or support roles are invited by Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to a series of recruitment open days.

They will be at:

• Melksham Community Hospital on Friday, February 28, 2-7pm.

• Savernake Community Hospital, Marlborough, on Friday, February 28, 2-7pm

• And at Salisbury Guildhall on Saturday, March 1, 10am-3pm.

The trust wants to recruit nurses, other healthcare professionals and administrative staff to work in their community healthcare services across Wiltshire.

As well as the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, the trust runs community hospitals in Marlborough, Devizes, Trowbridge, Melksham, Chippenham, Warminster and Westbury.

It also manages neighbourhood teams across Wiltshire who provide healthcare for local people in their own homes.

The trust’s recruitment drive began in April last year and so far 270 nursing and midwifery staff have joined the trust, which means there are now 96 more staff on their wards and in the community.

Oonagh Fitzgerald, director of Workforce and Education, said: “We’re putting a significant amount of time into getting more staff onto our wards and into the community with the qualities we value – kindness, compassion and professionalism.

“With around 5,500 staff we are one of the biggest employers in the South West and there are few places to work as rewarding.

"I don’t know if people realise that the NHS offers some great benefits, including 27 days' holiday, a generous pension, flexible working options and training and development opportunities.”
